7L + POSSUM COLLABORATION

7L AND POSSUM (POLAR SUBORBITAL SCIENCE IN THE UPPER MESOSPHERE) HAVE JOINED FORCES TO BRING YOU ONE STEP CLOSER TO COMMERCIAL SPACE FLIGHTS BY DESIGNING NEW BASE LAYERS FOR POSSUMS ANALOG ASTRONAUTS. 7L HAVE BEEN SELECTED BY Dr. Jason Reimuller WHO is the Executive Director of Project PoSSUM and also serves as Co-I of the PMC-Turbo experiment and the PoSSUM Bioastronautics Program. A commercial research pilot and spacecraft system engineer, Jason served for six years for NASA’s Constellation Program. HE SAID ABOUT THE COLLABORATION "TO HAVE 7L ONBOARD WITHIN THE TEAM IS FANTASTIC. THEIR EXPERTISE AND SKILL TO DESIGN TECHNICAL & FUNCTIONAL GARMENTS LIKE BASE LAYERS, MID-LAYERS AND OUTERWEAR IS INVALUABLE TO A PROJECT LIKE THIS. THEY WILL BE A MAJOR ASSET TO OUR WORK".

JAMIE LUNDY (7L CEO) SAID "THIS IS VERY EXCITING TIMES FOR 7L AND TAKES OUR BRAND AND DESIGNERS IN A NEW 'EXTREME SYSTEM' DIRECTION. TO BE INVOLVED WITH COMMERCIAL SPACE FLIGHT RESEARCH AND HELPING TO DEVELOP GARMENTS FOR THE ANALOG ASTRONAUTSAND UNDER THEIR EVA SUITS IS A PRIVILEGE, AND TO WORK ALONGSIDE ORGANISATIONS SUCH AS POSSUM, FINAL FRONTIER AND THE CANADIAN AIRFORCE, AN HONOUR".

7L WILL BEGIN ITS DESIGN AND RESEARCH WORK IN SEPTEMBER 2018 HAVING THE BASE LAYERS READY FOR TESTING IN APRIL 2019.
